Freek Van Deynze…


is a PhD Candidate at the UGent Sociology department’s Center for Higher Education Governance Ghent (CHEGG). Previously he graduated at the same university, holding a Master’s degree in EU studies and Sociology.

Broadly speaking, his main research interested lies in in the normatively loaded and mutually influential relationship between science/academia and broader society, including its political and governance mechanisms. Currently he is conducting research on changes in the governance of doctoral education in Flanders, as well as on European developments in this area.
