is a teaching and research assistant in the Russian section of the department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication at Ghent University. She holds a master of arts in Translation (English and Russian) and a degree in Eastern European Languages and Cultures (Russian and Polish). Her research interests lie in the translation and reception of Western literature in Russia, and her ongoing PhD project treats of the Russian reception of Jean-Paul Sartre for the period 1955-2005. Apart from – but preferably in combination with – her academic interests, she is a strong believer in social engagement and she also has a soft spot for the arts of painting and poetry.
