Sara Nyssen is a PhD student at the department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication at Ghent University, affiliated with the research group MULTIPLES (Multilingual Practices and Language Learning in Society). She obtained a master’s degree in Slavic studies and in Social and Cultural Anthropology at KU Leuven. She is conducting an ethnographic study of the professional (activation) trajectories of migrant job seekers in Flanders. Her interests lie with issues of language (ideologies), migration and integration, work, and gender.
